Wetlands are complex ecosystems that are vital to the health of our planet. They play a critical role in regulating the Earth’s climate, improving water quality, and controlling floods.
The WETPOL (Wetland Pollutant Dynamics and Control) conference will be held in Bruges, Belgium from 10-14 September and it will bring together wetland scientists, engineers and practitioners to advance understanding of these complex ecosystems and improve wetland management practices. This year’s 10th anniversary event will focus on the role of wetlands in sustainable water management, resource recovery, and climate change mitigation.
Discussions will include how restored and constructed wetlands can process nutrients and contaminants to improve water quality and recover valuable resources. Overall, WETPOL provides a crucial platform for exchanging knowledge and ideas to protect and enhance the vital ecosystem services provided by wetlands.
Deadline for abstract submission has been extended on 18 April 2023.
