Representatives from WATERAGRI actively engaged in the 3rd International Conference for Sustainable Resource Society: Water Cycle in the Environment and Society, which took place in Kuopio, Finland from November 2nd to 3rd, 2023. This conference centered around the intricate dynamics of the water cycle within the context of the environment and society. Serving as a dynamic platform, it facilitated the exchange of knowledge and fostered collaboration among experts in the field.
Eriona Canga from alchemia-nova and Mona Arnold from VTT Technical Research Centre of Finland Ltd, took stage with an oral presentation on their research titled “Biochar for Agricultural Water Management“. The presented paper addressed the pressing issue of nutrient-loaded agricultural runoff and wastewater, emphasizing the economic and environmental benefits of capturing and reusing these nutrients. The focus of the research was on assessing various biochar types produced from side streams for nutrient uptake.
WATERAGRI‘s participation in the 3rd International Conference for Sustainable Resource Society marked a significant step towards disseminating project’s results and fostering collaboration.
