WATERAGRI 8th GA Meeting Recap

The H2020 research and innovation action project, WATERAGRI assesses the water and nutrient retention requirements with the farming community and develop new technologies for the adoption at the farm and agricultural catchment level.

8th General Assembly Meeting (GA) of the WATERAGRI project was held in Budapest from 19 to 20 April. It has been hosted by three partners from Hungary Bay Zoltán Nonprofit Ltd. for Applied Research (BZN), University of Debrecen (UNIDEB) and Agrogeo Co. Ltd. (AGROGEO). The focus of the meeting was to talk about the current progress of the project and the insights gained thus far. Its purpose was to bring together all members of the Consortium to pinpoint upcoming priorities and establish objectives for the project’s final year.

At the first day of GA, Katalin Kálai from BZN and Rolf Larsson, the Project Coordinator, hosted the opening and gave an overview of the program. The opening session was followed with a presentation of the project status held by Sebastian Puculek, project manager. Afterward, Attila Nagy from UNIDEB gave a special talk on Agricultural Water Management in Hungary. After three parallel sessions about Impact, Dissemination&Communication and  Framework testing, all stakeholders together with project partners played AgriLemma Serious Game moderated by Aashna Mittal from Delft University of Technology.

On the second day at the plenary session, Felix Witing from the WATERAGRI’s twin project OPTAIN gave a short update of the project and introduced the Summer School. Afterward, Vladimir Mrkajic from InoSens presented on Exploitation and IPR Management, while Jovana Bondzic gave overview on Scientific Dissemination Strategy. Three parallel sessions were held about Policy Briefs,  PhD student’s network and  Modelling in combination with data assimilation. Tamara Avellan from University of OULU presented on UN Gender Mainstreaming. Rolf Larsson ended the Meeting and announced that the next GA will be held in Bologna, Italy in October.

Project partners are now finishing most of the Reporting within Project Deliverables and preparing Technical report.
