The WATERAGRI serious game will be developed by TU Delft to effectively engage the farming community and other stakeholders taking part in the project. The game will help these stakeholders, especially farmers, understand better the nutrient and water retention processes within the field and catchment and appreciate more the complex trade-offs that exist between water retention options and agricultural production. The interactive gaming environment will also enable different stakeholders to assess the likely impact of their decisions on technical, economic and environmental aspects of the analysed problem. This, in turn, will help facilitate the decision-making, both within the catchment and at the farm level. As a consequence, the serious game is likely to increase the stakeholders’ acceptance of new technologies and solutions that will be developed and demonstrated in the WATERAGRI project.
